Back in the 1990, I belonged to a modular train club. The club put on a show at Southlake Mall in Hobart, Indiana. This is a photo from the second floor of the mall of our layout.
There were two mainline loops of track around the entire layout as well as a number of side tracks for storing equipment. Each module (table) was built to certain specific standards so they could all be combined together to create a large layout. Modules are individually owned and decorated with scenery of the owner's choosing.
A steam powered passenger train is approaching a curve. This scene is in the lower right corner to the overall view. Note - this was one of my tables in the layout.
Another view of the coaling tower and Lionelville Pipe Co. In the background, note the ice cream stand in the park.
Here is a view from the inside of the layout. Note the park scene in the lower part of the photo. Beside the ice cream stand, there is a Ferris wheel, a carousel and a miniature train. Yes the train ran around the park with several "passengers" on it.
The simulated burning tower actually smoked. So did the diner.
Here a dairy farmer has just unload some milk and loaded it into a refrigerated car for shipment to a dairy for processing.
